Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’ gets a new international trailer that further showcases visuals

Director Ang Lee has managed to make quite a name for himself in Hollywood, garnering commercial and critical acclaim where many of his foreign film peers were unable to. While his last movie, 2009′s Taking Woodstock, was met with mixed reactions, his projects continue to garner interest, so when it was formally announced that he would be taking over the helm of the troubled adaptation of Life of Pi, many were confident the project was in good hands. With Gerard Depardieu, Rafe Spall, Irrfan Khan, and Tabu in supporting roles, newcomer Suraj Sharma was given the titular role of Pi, and  a new Vietnamese trailer has been released for the movie that highlights his performance. The new trailer can be seen below.

There was once a time when I thought Scarface was the best movie ever made, and Home Improvement was appointment television for me. While I still have a soft spot for both, those days of naivete are long behind me, as I’ve subsequently managed to broaden my horizons. Ambition is the most important part of a movie for me; if it tries to do something unique, tell a well-worn story in a different way, or take on large themes in a honest manner, I can forgive many flaws. If there’s one movie fact I’ve learnt after all these years, it’s that Employee of The Month is to Office Space what fast food is to fresh fruit.
