New Poster for ‘Super 8′ continues the great marketing for the film

The new trailer and plot synopsis for the hotly anticipated Super 8 was released yesterday and it had me watching old Spielberg sci-fi films all day. The marketing thus far has been superb, and other studios should be taking notes. The trailer showed just enough to get fans excited without spoiling much. The secrecy behind the film has peeked everyone’s curiousity, even if you are not a fan of Abrams, and now the new poster does a great job of capturing the visuals seen in the trailer. Considering no one does Hollywood blockbusters better than Spielberg, it is great to see a throwback to his sci-fi films of the 80’s.

Here is the official plot synopsis:

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
