Starting on October 20th, Toronto will host films by and about indigenous peoples from around the world in one of the coolest film festivals this city has to offer – imagineNATIVE. The program is packed with narrative features, documentaries, and shorts by indigenous people from Canada, the USA, Australia, Greenland, New Zealand, Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Finland, Nepal, and Norway. It is literally impossible to attend this festival and not learn something new about indigenous people from the world over.

Other events include an opening reception, a visual art expedition, performance art, and the usual collection of parties. Of course, a collection of directors will be present, including Taika Waititi. Tickets can be purchased online, or at the presenting theatres. Sound on Sight will be there, and will also publish a handful of reviews prior to the festival, so watch this space.
