Televerse Podcast

It’s time for a new segment, the Spotlight of Shame, when Simon and I spend far too long discussing the pilot of Touch. Then it’s a somewhat lackluster Week in TV before we spotlight Justified’s latest, “Cut Ties”, and we wrap things up with a look at fan favorite series Chuck, with Shawn Keown from the Zero Pretension podcast joining us at the DVD Shelf.
This week, we cover Childrens Hospital, Top Chef: Texas, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Archer, Fringe, An Idiot Abroad, The Fades, Downtown Abbey, The Good Wife, and Lost Girl.

I really enjoyed the DVD Shelf on Chuck, even with Simon’s resistance towards its charms. I’ll admit that part of what draws me to this show is the geeky side of it, so I can understand that being an obstacle. My favorite season is probably the second, and that momentum carried through much of the third (with the original run up until Shaw’s exit).
I elaborated on this in my post about the finale, but I’m with people like Shawn who think it totally worked. Like Kate, I figured they’d resolve Sarah’s memory loss well before the end, but I think the less straightforward conclusion worked better. I hadn’t heard about the fans’ efforts to get the show on the air in other format. I expect it’s a long shot, but it would be interesting to see if it could work.
