It’s the first guest-less Televerse in a long time as Simon and Kate break down the week’s TV. They give ample time to Community, 30 Rock, Fringe, Girls, and Mad Men before spotlighting Park and Rec’s “The Debate”. Then it’s time for a season spotlight on The Good Wife, which wrapped up its third season with Sunday’s “The Dream Team”.
Other shows covered this week include Cougar Town, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Lost Girl, South Park, Eagleheart, Awake, Bob’s Burgers, Veep, The Amazing Race, The Voice, and Smash.

Kate is a violinist by day, TV-aholic by night, and film geek by somewhere around dawn. While attending UIUC, she earned a Masters Degree in Violin Performance and a Schrute Buck in a Pop Culture Trivia Contest; of the two, so far only the latter has hung on her wall. Her favorite movies are The Princess Bride, Casablanca, and The Third Man and her favorite TV shows are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Wire, and Arrested Development. 
Here is my experience with The Good Wife: I didn’t watch it when it began for two reasons – I wasn’t quite a Julianna Margulies fan and really found the title to be off-putting. So as the show got recognized around awards’ seasons two friends and I thought we should catch up with it. One friend got the DVD for season one and I got season two. The three of us watched pretty much non-stop once we started and finished right before season 3. We all loved it. And I am now a fan of Julianna Margulies (and Alicia Florick!)
This past season, season 3, was the first time I watched the show as it aired. I really hated the delays caused by CBS sports, which pushes their entire lineup back anywhere from 15 minutes to almost an hour. (TGW and Amazing Race are the only CBS shows I watch.) Sunday night is such a clusterfuck of programming that when the delays occurred I usually skipped over to either Walking Dead or Mad Men or something else that was airing (usually because AMC shows have a less friendly replete play pattern.) TGW got pushed back to the less desirable delayed viewing usually via my desktop at work the next morning. (I’m lucky I work with a TV and movie database so occasional viewing or listening is not frowned upon.) So I still watched this season but I really missed not watching the show at my leisure on DVD. I’m wondering if the move from Tuesday (?) night to Sunday had an effect on anyone else who was watching.
I wasn’t totally sold on Matt Czuchry the first season. It seemed that he just gave his little smile/smirk as a stock reaction. I think he’s definitely grown as Cary Agos and this season, though we didn’t see him as much, gave him more range of emotion.
I’m a big fan of The Good Wife, it has a great cast and guest actors and I love it whenever Kalinda looks as if she is even remotely looking for a bat!
