The slow rollout of the fall season continues this week with the premieres of Happy Endings and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23. There’s also the probable series finale of The Thick of It as well as the Halloween specials from Venture Bros. and Mockingbird Lane. Halloween special, but otherwise, we seem to be settling into the fall schedule. Before spotlighting this week’s fantastic Homeland, “Q&A” and welcoming author Robert. K Elder to the DVD Shelf for a look at the X-Files spinoff Millennium, we talk through Our (rather extensive) Week in TV.
This week, we try something new, grouping several of the shows together under the Tuesday Comedies (Ben and Kate, New Girl, Happy Endings, Don’t Trust the B—-), Thursday Comedies (30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Always Sunny, The League, Childrens Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV::), and Friday Genre Roundup (Mockingbird Lane, Grimm, Fringe) categories. Also on the docket this week are Parenthood, 30 for 30, Supernatural, Nashville, The Vampire Diaries, Last Resort, Person of Interest, The Amazing Race, The Good Wife, Treme, The Voice, and Revolution.

Kate is a violinist by day, TV-aholic by night, and film geek by somewhere around dawn. While attending UIUC, she earned a Masters Degree in Violin Performance and a Schrute Buck in a Pop Culture Trivia Contest; of the two, so far only the latter has hung on her wall. Her favorite movies are The Princess Bride, Casablanca, and The Third Man and her favorite TV shows are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Wire, and Arrested Development. 
I decided to keep watching Ben & Kate for the heartwarming part and not the laughs. Still doesn’t make me laugh enough but its got a full season pickup so why not.
So surprised you guys really don’t like Person of Interest that much but thats fine, I love it. I’m cool with people not liking it as long as enough watch to keep it on the air.
Nashville is a fun show to me but they need to move some stuff along a bit faster. I still am loving Castle and it is fun every week.
I still think I watch a ton of shows that you guys don’t which surprises me because I watch a ton of stuff.
Fun discussion on Millennium. A great mustache-twirling Terry O’Quinn performance comes in Chris Carter’s Harsh Realm as General Santiago. It lasted a very short time but had potential if the ratings weren’t so low.
On The Amazing Race, I actually think this cast is an improvement over last season. Ryan is just awful, and Josh and Brent are pretty boring, but most of the others are good. Jaymes and James are hilarious, and I’m with Kate on enjoying the twins. Trey and Lexi are also a cute couple and fun to watch. It isn’t going to rank with their best groups, but this cast is a step in the right direction.
