The Sundance sensation In the Loop will be making its way to select theaters and VOD on July 24^th courtesy of IFC Films. Armando Iannucci’s film is an adaptation of the short lived 2005 British TV comedy series In the Thick of It with much of the show’s cast reprising their roles in the film. The political farce centers on a British Secretary of State and his entourage trying to halt a war, he may have accidentally started, through any means necessary. Dry British hilarity is bound to ensue. The comedy is getting some of the year’s best reviews (including a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes) with many using the “Spinal Tap meets Dr. Strangelove” description. The ensemble cast includes Tom Hollander, Peter Capaldi, Gina McKee, James Gandolfini, and Steve Coogan.
