This list is a sad travesty. How do you write a Best Mexican Standoff list and leave off Reservoir Dogs AND Pulp Fiction? The comments on this list have it right. The Wild Bunch and Way of the Gun are both perfect. Also, the Hans/John McClane shootout in Die Hard.

The finale of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is not a Mexican Standoff, it’s a duel. They did not have their guns out, wanting to but not daring to, start shooting at each other. Their guns were in their holsters and they were all very willing to shoot each other.

Yes, and Butch Cassidy is not even close to a Mexican Standoff. It’s a shoot-out.

Battle Royale, Inglorious, Robocop, and True Romance are all solid examples.
