Track of the Day: ‘Brave Bird’ by Stef Lang
I am going with another “Hawk Harrelson Homer Pick” for today’s track of the day. I am bringing back Canadian indie rocker Stef Lang again with another track of hers, this time from a different record. Currently located out of Vancouver, Lang brings her unique sensibility to all of her music. She is signed on Hip Joint Music and will actually be touring the United States later this year. I would highly recommend you go to one of her shows if she happens to be in your neck of the woods. You will probably have the opportunity to meet her after the show and she is very generous with her time, especially when it comes to meeting fans.
Today’s song “Brave Bird” is a wonderful little song off her 2009 EP Blood and Bravery. I love how quiet and understated this song is. The use of the acoustic guitar combined with the piano and violin is quite lovely.
Lang will be part of the Vancouver Island Music Business Conference this weekend in Vancouver as a panelist and performer. She will be performing at the Songwriters Circle 7PM tonight at the Sid Williams Theatre which is located in Courtenay. If you are in the area, check it out.
