Trailer: The Green Hornet

The Green Hornet was created by Fran Striker for an American old-time radio program in the 1930′s. In the following decades the radio show spawned into other media, including film serials, comic books and, more famously into a TV show starring Bruce Lee as Kato, the Green Hornet’s sidekick, in the 1960′s. In 2011 director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind) sets out to introduce the famous character to a new generation.

Gondry replaced Stephen Chow, who had previously planned to direct the film as a comedy. The film is scheduled to be released on January 14, 2011 and will star Seth Rogen as Britt Reid/The Green Hornet, Jay Chou as Kato: The Green Hornet’s Asian valet and sidekick, Cameron Diaz as Lenore “Casey” Case, and Christoph Waltz as Benjamin Chudnofsky: A gangster villain created for the film that will reportedly attempt to join all of the mafias of Los Angeles together to form a “super-mafia.

Synopsis: Britt Reid, a bored playboy, inherits his father’s crusading newspaper, the Daily Sentinel. By night he is a masked hero, fighting crime with his sidekick Kato, who has incredible martial-arts skills.
