Video Of The Day: Brad Neely’s ‘America Now’

 

Most people know of artist Brad Neely from his work in the comic series Creased Comics and the spoof of Harry Potter Wizard People, Dear Reader which basically consists of an alternate soundtrack of narration in the style of a book on tape, which viewers can play over the muted movie. The project was featured in the film Wizard Rockumentary: A Movie about Rocking and Rowling, a feature documentary chronicling the rise of Harry Potter tribute bands. Producers Megan and Mallory Schuyler travelled around the United States compiling interviews and concert footage of bands including Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys,The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willow and The Moaning Myrtles.

Neely also from occasional creates one-off videos, for several series such as I Am Baby Cakes, The Professor Brothers, and China, Illinois. One of his latest projects is America Now, a 12-part series of 30-second musical shorts for Adult Swim, which is now available on the station’s website and on YouTube. I’ve posted a few videos below.
