Video Of The Day: Wasted On Film
Everyone knows that the one thing the Montreal Sound On Sight crew likes better than movies, is drinking. You can find us at the Irish Embassy, McKibbons Pub, Brutopia and MadHatters after most film festival screenings. Like the S.O.S. staff, movies are never short on characters who have had one too many. There is a reason why Simon Howell banned drinking during the recording of our podcast. Below is a video edited by the fine folks at Screen Junkies, featuring characters/actors wasted on film. There are of course some obvious choices missing. Perhaps some of the most memorable movie drunks in my book are Willie T. Stokes, the bitter, lonely alcoholic from Bad Santa, Bob and Doug McKenzie from the awesome Canadian film Strange Brew, Dudley Moore’s Arthur from Arthur, Henry Chinaski played by Mickey Rourke in Barfly and my personal favourite Martha (Elizabeth Taylor) from Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Here is the video. Enjoy!
