A while back it was reported that Drafthouse Films, Timpson Films and Magnet Releasing were teaming to produce The ABCs of Death, a 26-chapter anthology film to be directed by 25 established horror directors. The 26th director will be chosen as part of a global contest to find a new filmmaking talent.
The anthology which is inspired by kids ABC books, will have “each director assigned a letter from the alphabet that represents a word to act as a springboard for a short. It will be up to each filmmaker to interpret, from accidental deaths to murders committed in cold blood.”
The contest has been underway for quite a while now and I’ve taken the time to look at many of the shorts submitted. So far my personal favourite just so happens to be from a directing team who reside right here in Montreal. François Simard, Anouk Whissell, Yoann-Karl Whissell really blow away the competition with their entry titled T is for Turbo. Check it out below.
