Contributing to Sound On Sight

Contributing to Sound On Sight is a great way to kick-start your journalism career. Many of our former and current contributors have gone on to bigger and better things. If you are passionate about writing, or you are looking for journalistic experience, and are searching for a platform for your writings, look no further. We have a built in audience and have access to media for journalism/review purposes.

Writing for Sound On Sight offers you an opportunity to write about what is you want to write about without feeling the pressure of deadlines, or having your voice censored. We also offer a well designed website, complete with an author box for each writer, and their very own page. We want the hard work of all our writers to be showcased easily. There is nothing more frustrating than landing on a website, and not being able to find any information about a writer who you love to follow. We also have a professional team who can check your copy for spelling, grammar, accuracy and fix any typos you have written, as well as optimize all your contributions for the best search-engine placement.

Games:

After five long years, we have finally decided to launch a games section here at Sound On Sight. This is an extremely new section but we hope to grow pretty fast. Last year SOS launched a TV section that quickly found a sizable readership and built a great team of writers in less than six months. In order to create a focus for the new Games section at SOS we’ve drafted a plan of action to help us grow in a similar short period of time. If you would like to participate and contribute editorials, a column and/or reviews, please email Matt D. at admin@soundonsight.org with a writing sample.

Film:

Sound On Sight is always keen to hear from volunteers who wish to submit columns or articles on a regular basis. We are always looking for talented writers who can help us to stimulate thought and inspire discussion, by providing a continuous flow of opinion, insight and original content for our readers.

If you are interested in joining the team, please email Ricky at admin@soundonsight.org with a writing sample.

Remember folks, Sound On Sight readers are film-literate, pop-culture savvy moviegoers with discerning tastes but broad palettes. Criticism goes beyond opinion here at Sound On Sight.

Comic Books:

Sound On Sight is seeking volunteers who wish to review and cover the newest comic book and graphic novel releases running the gamut from mainstream superhero titles to obscure indie titles and everything in between. We’re looking for contributors interested in writing feature stories, reviews, previews, historical context and more about one of the fastest growing mediums in entertainment: comics. Writers can pitch story ideas or comics or graphic novels they’d like to cover and/or request assignments linking to new review copies from comics most innovative publishers including Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Vertigo, DC, IDW, Legendary, Titan and more. 2012 was a big year for us, and with the launch of our new comics section, we hope 2013 can be even bigger.

If interested, please email Tony Nunes at admin@soundonsight.org with a writing sample.

TV:

Sound On Sight is currently seeking writers who wish to contribute editorials and review both cable and networks TV shows such as Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, The Americans, Archer, to name a few.

If interested please email Kate Kulzick at admin@soundonsight.org with a writing sample.

Please note: While your contribution may occasionally offer ancillary benefits (such as press badges, comics ahead of release and various types of shwag), we can’t guarantee much beyond exposing your name in what is one of the newest and fastest growing, independently owned pop-culture websites. With that said, many of our writers have gone on to use their experience in writing for Sound On Sight to help break their way into a career in journalism and film criticism.
